Customs (Prohibited Exports) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Customs Act 1901.

Prohibition against export except with approval of Minister of State for Home Affairs and Environment

1. Regulation 13a of the Customs (Prohibited Exports) Regulations is amended by inserting after sub-regulation (1) the following sub-regulation:

“(1a) A reference in the Twelfth Schedule to a medal or other decoration shall be read as a reference to a medal or decoration awarded by the King, the Queen or the Governor-General or by the government or head of state of a country that, at the time the medal or decoration was awarded, was an ally of Australia.”.

Twelfth Schedule

2. The Twelfth Schedule to the Customs (Prohibited Exports) Regulations is repealed and the following Schedule substituted:

TWELFTH SCHEDULE Regulation 13a

GOODS THE EXPORT OF WHICH IS PROHIBITED UNLESS THE APPROVAL OF THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HOME AFFAIRS AND ENVIRONMENT OR OF AN AUTHORIZED PERSON IS PRODUCED TO THE COLLECTOR
