with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Customs (Narcotic Substances) Regulations.

2. After regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations the following regulation is inserted:

Commercial quantity of narcotic substance

“2a. For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of ‘commercial quantity’ in subsection 4(1) of the Act, the quantity specified in Column 3 of an item in the Schedule is prescribed to be the commercial quantity in relation to the narcotic substance whose name is specified in Column 2 of that item.”.

3. Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “Column 1 of the Schedule” and substituting “Column 2 of an item in the Schedule”.

4. Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is repealed and the following

regulation substituted:

Trafficable quantity of narcotic substance

“4. For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of ‘trafficable quantity’ in subsection 4(1) of the Act, the quantity specified in Column 4 of an item in the Schedule is prescribed to be the trafficable quantity in relation to the narcotic substance whose name is specified in Column 2 of that item.”.

5. The Schedule to the Principal Regulations is repealed and the following schedule substituted:
