This is the Customs Legislation Amendment (Signal Jammers and Other Matters) Regulation 2016.

Schedule 1Amendments

Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956

Subregulation 3C(1)

Omit “subregulations 4(3) and”, substitute “subregulation”.

Subregulation 4(3)

Repeal the subregulation.

Subparagraph 4H(2)(c)(i)

Omit “16,”.

Subparagraph 4H(2)(c)(i)

Omit “or 42”, substitute “42 or 45”.

Schedule 3 (at the end of the table)

Add:

Devices whose operation or supply, or whose possession for the purpose of operation or supply, is prohibited by a declaration under section 190 of the Radiocommunications Act 1992

The devices must not be imported unless they are imported by a person whose acts or omissions relating to the devices are exempt from section 189 of the Radiocommunications Act 1992 under a determination made under subsection 27(2) of that Act

Paragraph 1.2(c) of Part 1 of Schedule 13

Omit “import”, substitute “importer”.

Repeal the item.
