Wines, for the consumption of Regimen-

tal Officers, serving in 'Western Australia.

HEREAS certain Duties are impose by Law upon all wines

WRegimental Officers of her Majesty's Troops from the payment ofimported into this colony, and it is expedient to relieve

such duties in certain cases ;—Be it therefore enacted, by His Excel- lency, the Governor of Western Australia, with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council thereof; that from and after the passing of this Ordinance, it shall be lawful for the Governor, upon proof to His Excellency's satisfaction that any wines are imported into this colony, or purchased in bond, by or on behalf of Regimental Officers of Her Majesty's Troops serving in Western Australia, to remit or return, subject to such regulations as His Excellency may from time to time appoint, the duties payable or paid on such wines by any law in force within the colony. Provided that such wines be for the actual consumption of the said Officers, whether living in mess or otherwise; and provided also that the quantity of wine upon which a remissson of duty shall be allowed, do not exceed in the whole the quantity of one pint per diem for each Officer.
