An Act to amend an Act intituled " An Act to impose certain uties on Imported Spirit- uous Liquors."
HEREAS it is expedient that the public expenses of this colony Preamble.
Wseveral articles imported into this colony ;—Be it therefore enactedshould be defrayed in part by certain duties to be imposed on
that from and after the passing of this Act, the following duties shall be

1st. On spirits imported into this colony, being the production and
manufacture of any part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain
and Ireland, or of any of the colonies or dependencies of the same, On British Spin.%
a duty of four shillings and sixpence for each and every imperial 4s. sit a gallon.

any bonded warehonse in any of the British colonies or de- pendencies, a duty of six shillings for each and every imperial gallon not exceeding the strength of Hydrometer Proof, and in the same proportion for the like spirits of greater strength.
| On Foreign Spirits, | 3rd. On spirits of Foreign production and manufacture imported into the said colony from any Foreign Place, a duty of seven shillings and sixpence for each and every imperial gallon not ex- ceeding the strength of Hydrometer Proof, and in the same pro- portion for the like spirits of greater strength. |

| Cent. ad valorem. | 4th. On all wines imported into this colony, a duty of fifteen pounds for every hundred pounds: according to their value. |

| Cent. ad valorem. | 5th. On all sorts of tobacco imported into this colony, a duty of |
one hundred pounds for every hundred pounds, according to its
value.
II. AND be it further enacted, that the duties aforesaid shall be col
lected in the manner pointed out by the provisions of an Act for the
general Regulation of the Customs of this colony.
III. AND be it further enacted, that this Act shall be and continue
in force until the 18th day of March, in the year 1841.
