An Ordinance to repeal an Ordinance passed in the 17th year of the reign of Her pre- sent Majesty, No, 14, imposing Duties on imported Goods, and to make other pro- visions in lieu thereof.
HEREAS it is expedient to modify the existing duties
payable on Goods imported into Western Australia, and to
provide for certain exemptions from the Customs Duties ;—Be it Preamble. of the Legislative Council thereof :-
therefore enacted, by His Excellency the Governor of Western
I. THAT an Ordinance passed in the 17th year of the reign of

nance passed in the 12th year of the reign of Her present Majesty, pealed ;

No. 8, imposing duties on imported Goods, and to make other provisions in lieu thereof," shall be and the same is hereby repealed.,

THAT the goods, wares, and articles enumerated in the second schedule hereunto annexed, shall and may, from and after the passing of this Ordinance, be imported into the said colony free of duty.

THAT it shall be lawful for the Governor of the said any special application made to him for thatpurpose, to exempt from the payment of duty any particular goods or article which, under the special circumstances of the case, shall be deemed to merit such exemption.
