AMENDMENTS OF THE CUSTOMS

(CINEMATOGRAPH F I L M S )

REGULATIONS.

1. Regulation 4 of the Customs (Cinematograph Films) Regulations is

amended—

(a) by inserting in the definition of " Censor " in sub-regulation (1.), after the words "Chief Censor,", the words " the Deputy Chief Censor ";

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the definition of "member

of the Board" and inserting in its stead the following

definition:—

" 'member of the Board' includes the Chief Censor and the

Deputy Chief Censor;"; and

(c) by adding at the end of sub-regulation (1.) the following " ' t h e Deputy Chief Censor' means the member of the Board appointed to be the Deputy Chief Censor under these Regulations.".

2. Regulation 5 of the Customs (Cinematograph Films) Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2.) and inserting in its stead the

3. After regulation 7 of the Customs (Cinematograph Films) Regula- tions the following regulation is inserted:—

Delegation by

the Chief

Censor to the Deputy Chief

"7A .—(1. ) The Chief Censor may, by writing under his hand, delegate

to the Deputy Chief Censor any of his powers, duties and functions under

these Regulations (except this power of delegation).

" ( 2. ) A power, duty or function so delegated may be exercised or per- formed by the Deputy Chief Censor in accordance with the instrument of delegation.

"(3.) A delegation under this regulation is revocable at will and does not prevent the exercise of a power or the performance of a duty or function by the Chief Censor.

" ( 4. ) A delegation under this regulation continues in operation during a vacancy in the office of the Chief Censor or during any period in which the Chief Censor is unable to carry out the duties of his office, unless and until it is revoked by the person exercising the powers of the Chief Censor under regulation 6 of these Regulations.".
