  1. Name of Regulations

These Regulations are the Customs Amendment Regulations 2009 (No. 3).

  1. Commencement

These Regulations commence on the day after they are registered.

  1. Amendment of Customs Regulations 1926

Schedule 1 amends the Customs Regulations 1926.

[1]          Subregulation 1A (1), definition of human embryo

[2]          Subregulation 1A (1), definition of human embryo clone

human embryo clone has the meaning given by section 8 of the Prohibition of Human Cloning for Reproduction Act 2002.

Viable material derived from human embryo clones to which the following regulations apply:

   (a)  regulation 8A of the Customs (Prohibited Exports) Regulations 1958

  (b)  regulation 5L of the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956
