I, LIONEL BARRIE WOODWARD, Chief Executive Officer of Customs, under to section 4A and subsection 64AAB(3) of the Customs Act 1901 (the Act), approve the attached “NOTIFYING CUSTOMS OF PARTICULARS OF CARGO REPORTERS” as an approved statement for the purposes of communicating electronically particulars of a cargo reporter who has entered into an agreement or arrangement with another cargo reporter under which cargo for whose carriage the first cargo reporter is responsible is to be carried on a ship or aircraft.

This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

NOTIFYING CUSTOMS OF PARTICULARS OF CARGO REPORTERS

Approved statement – Customs Act 1901 subsection 64AAB(3)

Item No. Short title Information required
1 Sender Reference The identifier assigned by the person communicating the report to identify (and distinguish from others) the report and all subsequent amendments to the report.
2 Sender Reference Version The numeric identifier assigned by the person communicating the report to identify the version of the report or sequence of related reports.
3 Flight No If the report relates to a flight of an aircraft - the airline code (as allocated by the International Air Transport Association (IATA)), and flight number (as assigned by the carrier to identify the journey of the aircraft) for the flight.
4 Vessel ID

If the report relates to a voyage of a ship -the identifier of the ship:

§     the Lloyds identification number of the ship; or

§     if the ship does not have a Lloyds identification number, the identification code allocated to the operator of the ship by Customs.

5 Voyage Number If the report relates to a voyage of a ship -the unique number assigned by the principal agent of the ship for the particular journey to Australia.
6 Associated Cargo Reporter Identifier The Australian Business Number (ABN), or code allocated by Customs (the Customs Client Identifier or CCID), of the cargo reporter with whom the communicator has entered an agreement or arrangement under which the cargo reporter is responsible for cargo carried on the ship or aircraft during the voyage or flight.
7 Freight Forwarder Indicator If goods are being imported into Australia and are a co-load/consolidation – indicate if another cargo reporter will be providing further cargo reports.
