I, LIONEL BARRIE WOODWARD, Chief Executive Officer of Customs, under section 4A and subsection 64ACB(5) of the Customs Act 1901 (the Act), approve the attached “Inwards Crew Report” form (FORM 3 (JULY 2005)) as an approved form for the purposes of communicating to Customs a documentary report on crew who will be on board an aircraft at the time of its arrival at an airport.
CEO Instrument of Approval No. 9 of 2003 is revoked.
This instrument commences on the day it is registered.

We require this information under section 64ACB of the Customs Act 1901 in order to assess crew for the risk they may present in relation to a range of Commonwealth laws. Under subsection 64ACB(8) of the Customs Act 1901, the information provided must be disclosed to the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs. This information may also be disclosed to a number of agencies including the Australian Federal Police, Australian Crime Commission, Attorney-General’s Department and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
