An Act to amend the Laws of the Customs.

HEREAS it is expedient to alter the duties of Customs Preamble.

action, claim, or damage to which he or they might otherwise have been liable by reason of any refusal to deliver any goods imported into the said Province after the twenty-fifth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, or in bond on that day without payment of the duties set forth in the Schedule hereto, or, without payment of the duties authorized to be levied by any Act in force within the said Province at the time of the coming into operation of this Act.

4. The Collector of Customs shall, subject to the approval of the Governor, have power to make regulations fixing the amount to be paid by proprietors or occupiers of bonded warehouses or baggage warehouecs which have been or shall be appointed for the free warehousing and securing of goods under the provisions of The Customs Act, 1864 "; and every such or occupier shall pay to the said Collector, pursuant to such rcgulstions, whatever amount may be so fixed: And until such regulat~ons shall be made every such proprietor or occupier shall pay for each and every year, or proportional part of a vear, after the coming into operation of this Act, during which such appointment shall be in force, the

sum of Fifty Pounds, or a proportional part thereof, fbr each such

bonded warehouse or baggage warehouse situated in Adelaide or Port Adelaide, and the sum of Twenty Pounds, or a proportional part thereof, for each such bonded warehouse or baggaee warehouve situated in any other part of the said Province: Prov~ded always, that the amount to be, paid yearly in respect of each bonded warc- house or baggage warehouse under such regulations shall not exceed One Hundred-Pounds.
