HEREAS by an Ordinance enacted by the Governor of p r e d e.

South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council thereof, bearing date the twenty-third day of No- 1848, NO. 11.

vember, one thousand eight hundred and forty-eight, To amend the Laws of the Customs in SouthAustraEn," it is amongst other things enacted as follows, that is to say-By section 2, " That, in lieu and instead of all other duties of Customs, there shall be raised, levied, col- lected, and paid unto Her Majesty, for the public uses of the Province, and support of the Government thereof', the several duties of Customs inserted, described, and set forth in the Schedule hereto annexed marked A :" And whereas it is expedient that the whole of the before-recited section, and the Schedule thereto annexed marked A should be repealed:

Be it therefore Enacted, by His Excellency the Governo~

recited enactments, and Schedule A to the said Ordinance annexed,

2. And be it Enacted, That in lieu and instead of all other Duties of Customs, there shall be raised, levied, collected, and paid urlto Her Majesty, for the public uses of the Province, and support of the Government thereof, the several Duties of Customs inserted, des- cribed, and set forth in the Schedule hereto annexed, niarked A.

3. .And be it Enacted, That the Duties under the recited Ordi-

nance shall continue until the twenty-sixth day of December next, when the same shall cease and be no longer payable, and the new Duties imposed by this Ordinance shall commmce and be payable on and after the said twenty-sixth day of December next.
