AN ACT to impose certain Customs Duties in accordance with the provisions of the Com- monwealth of Australia Constitution Act.

HEREAS by the ninety-fifth section of an Act of the Imperial and 64th years of the reign of Her late Majesty Victoria, ChapterW

Preamble.

Parliament of Great Britain made and passed in the 63rd 12, entitled the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act, it is provided, amongst other things, that, notwithstanding anything in the said Act contained, the Parliament of Western Australia may, during the first five years after the imposition of uniform duties of Customs, impose certain duties of Customs on goods passing into Western Australia and not originally imported from beyond the limits of the Commonwealth : And whereas the Federal Common- wealth of Australia was established on the first day of January, 1901 : And whereas uniform duties of Customs have been imposed by the said Commonwealth : Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the

Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

Certain Customs

la THE duties of Customs in force in Western Australia at the Customs under the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act, so far as they relate to goods passing into Western Australia, and not originally imported from beyond the limits of the Commonwealth, are hereby re-imposed, and shall continue in force, subject to the provisions of section ninety-five of the said Act.
