1. Name of Determination

This Determination is the Currency (Royal Australian Mint) Determination 2007 (No. 8).

1. Commencement

This Determination commences on the day after it is registered.

1. Specifications of coins

For subsection 13A (1) of the Currency Act 1965, each item in Schedule 1 specifies:

(a)    the denomination of a coin; and

(b)    the coin’s standard composition; and

(c)    the coin’s standard weight, and the allowable variation from that weight; and

(d)    the coin’s dimensions; and

(e)    the coin’s design.

1. Application of Determination

The specifications in Schedule 1 do not affect any other determination of the specifications of a coin.

         (i)   a representation of the Scouts Australia logo, including the words ‘SCOUTS AUSTRALIA’; and

           (ii)   to the left of the logo — the number ‘1908’; and

          (iii)   to the right of the logo — the number ‘2008’; and

          (iv)   beneath the logo — the initials ‘CG’; and

    (b)   around the outside — the inscriptions:

            (i)   ‘CENTENARY OF SCOUTING’; and

           (ii)   ‘1 DOLLAR’.

    (c)   around the outside — the inscriptions,

            (i)   ‘ELIZABETH II’; and

           (ii)   ‘AUSTRALIA 2008’.

Reverse design

A design consisting of:

     (a)   a background of lines forming a whirlpool pattern; and

    (b)   in the centre — a representation of the reverse of a 1921 Kookaburra Penny, being:

            (i)   a representation of a kookaburra resting on a branch; and

           (ii)   above that representation — the word ‘AUSTRALIA’; and

          (iii)   beneath that representation — the words ‘ONE PENNY’; and

     (c)   around the outside — the inscriptions:

            (i)   ‘ ‘1921 KOOKABURRA PENNY’ ’; and

           (ii)   ‘ONE DOLLAR’.
