Currency Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the
Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive
Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the
Dated 15 July 1981.

Regulation 4 of the Currency Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from sub-paragraph (d) (vi) “or (viii)” and substituting “, (viii) or (viiiA)”;
(b) by omitting from sub-paragraph (d) (viii) “and” (last occurring);
(c) by inserting after sub-paragraph (d) (viii) the following sub-paragraph:
“(viiiA) in the case of a coin of the denomination of 50 cents that refers on its obverse side to the year 1981 as the year of the coin—
(A) the figures and representation referred to in sub-paragraph (vi); or
(B) the inscriptions ‘H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES AND LADY DIANA SPENCER’ and ‘FIFTY CENTS’ and an effigy of the Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer;”;
(d) by inserting “, other than a coin referred to in sub-paragraph (x)” after “dollars” in sub-paragraph (d) (ix); and
(e) by adding at the end thereof the following word and sub-paragraph:
“; and (x) in the case of a coin of the denomination of $200 that refers on its obverse side to the year 1981 as the year of the coin-the inscriptions ‘H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES AND LADY DIANA SPENCER’ and ‘200 DOLLARS’ and an effigy of the Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer.”.
