  1. Name of Determination

This Determination is the Currency (Perth Mint) Determination 2002 (No. 1).

  1. Commencement

This Determination commences on gazettal.

  1. Specification of coins

This Determination specifies, for a coin having the denomination and standard composition specified in columns 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 1, the standard weight, the allowable variation from that weight, the dimensions and the design specified in columns 4, 5 and 6 of that Part.

  1. Application of Determination

The specifications in this Determination do not affect any other Determination of the specification of a coin.

     (a)   the inscriptions:

            (i)   ‘ELIZABETH II’; and

           (ii)   ‘AUSTRALIA’; and

    (b)   an inscription stating, in Arabic numerals, the amount, in dollars or cents, of the denomination of the coin, followed by the word ‘DOLLAR’, ‘DOLLARS’ or ‘CENTS’, as the case requires;

that, in turn, surround an effigy of the Queen.

     (a)   a coloured image of engineer CY O’Connor; and

    (b)   the inscription ‘GOLDEN PIPELINE 100TH ANNIVERSARY’;

that, in turn, overlay:

     (c)   the signatures of dignitaries who attended the opening of the Golden Pipeline in 1903; and

    (d)   the inscription ‘1903 – 2003’ followed by a miniature map of Western Australia; and

     (e)   the Perth Mint ‘P’ mintmark.

     (a)   ‘AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA 2003 2OZ. 999 SILVER’;

that, in turn, surrounds:

     (c)   a pad-printed representation of the reverse of the Queen’s South Africa Medal and ribbon, as a privy mark.
