Forfeitures to be levied and paid in Sterl ing

Money of the Realm. [10th February, 1832.]

WH E R E A S by sundry Acts of Council and Ordinances now in force it is enacted ordered and directed t h a t cer ta in fines penal t ies
a n d forfeitures shall be paid in Spanish Dol la rs A n d whereas i t is
expedient for p r o m o t i n g t h e c i rculat ion of S ter l ing Money of t h e R e a l m
of Grea t B r i t a i n in fur therance of t h e ins t ruc t ions of H i s Majes ty ' s
Gove rnmen t for es tabl i sh ing a n uni form cur rency in t h e whole of H i s

Majes ty ' s F o r e i g n Possessions t h a t all such fines penal t ies and forfeitures shal l in fu tu re be paid in Ster l ing Money Be it therefore enacted by H i s Excel lency t h e Governor of N e w South W a l e s by a n d wi th t he advice of t h e Legis la t ive Council T h a t from and after t h e pass ing a n d publ ica t ion of th i s A c t for each and every Spanish Dol la r ordered to be levied or paid for any fine pena l ty or forfeiture u n d e r any L a w or Ordinance of th i s Colony t he r e shal l be paid t he s u m of P o u r Shil l ings and Four -pence of S te r l ing Money of t h e R e a l m of Grea t Br i t a in and in t h e same propor t ion for any fractional pa r t s of t h e said Spanish Dol la r so enacted ordered a n d directed to be levied or paid.
