These regulations may be cited as the
Crown Proceedings Regulations 2023 .
These regulations come into operation on the day on which they are made.
For the purposes of the definition of
Crown in section 4 of theCrown Proceedings Act 1992 , a person for the time being holding or acting in any of the following offices is declared to be an agency of the Crown:
(a) the Auditor‑General;
(b) the Commissioner for Equal Opportunity;
(c) a Commissioner appointed under the
Essential Services Commission Act 2002 ;(d) the Commissioner for Victims' Rights;
(e) the Deputy Auditor‑General;
(f) the Director of Public Prosecutions;
(g) the Electoral Commissioner;
(h) the Deputy Electoral Commissioner;
(i) the Health and Community Services Complaints Commissioner;
(j) the Ombudsman;
(k) the Solicitor‑General.
