An Act to amend the " Crown Lands Occupa­

t ion Act of 1861." [25th April, 1873.]

WH E R E A S t ion A c t of 1861 " in respect of leases for m i n i n g for any

it is expedient to amend the " Crown L a n d s Occupa­

meta l or mine ra l except ing gold Be i t therefore enac ted by t h e Queen ' s Mos t Exce l l en t Majesty by and wi th t h e advice and consent of the Legis la t ive Counci l and Legislat ive Assembly of N e w South Wales in Pa r l i amen t assembled and by the au thor i ty of t he same as follows :—

1. This A c t may be cited as the " Crown L a n d s Occupat ion A c t A m e n d m e n t Ac t of 1873 "	a n d shall be read wi th and as forming
par t of t h e " C r o w n Lands Occupat ion A c t of 1 8 6 1 " hereinafter	termed

the " P r i n c i p a l Ac t , "

2. No twi ths t and ing any th ing to t he contrary in t h e said Pr inc ipa l

A c t every au thor i ty to select on Crown Lands coal or o ther minera l lots issued or to be issued unde r t h e provisions of t h e said A c t shall have force and effect for two years from the date thereof unless sooner satisfied and may be t ransferred a t any t ime by the holder thereof on p a y m e n t of a fee n o t exceeding twen ty shill ings for each block so transferred.

3. I n a n y case in winch it shall be m a d e to appear to t h e

satisfaction of	t he Governor w i th t h e advice of t h e Execu t ive Council
t h a t g rea te r facilities for t he work ing of adjoining	mine ra l lots would

be insured by t h e ama lgama t ion of such lots i t shall be lawful for t he Governor wi th t he said advice to author ize such amalgamat ion upon the p a y m e n t of a fee not exceeding t w e n t y shil l ings for each block so to be ama lgamated a n d the provision in sub-section (3) of t he twenty- second section of t he Pr inc ipa l A c t prescr ib ing the expendi tu re to be made on minera l lots shal l apply to such lots w h e n so amalgamated .
