Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Criminal Procedure Regulation 2017 to extend the operation of the child sexual offence evidence pilot scheme until 30 June 2022.

This Regulation is made under the Criminal Procedure Act 1986, including section 4 (the general regulation-making power) and clause 81 of Schedule 2.

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Criminal Procedure Amendment (Child Sexual Offence

Evidence Pilot Scheme) Regulation 2019.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Criminal Procedure Regulation 2017

Clause 108A

Insert before clause 109:

108A Extension of pilot scheme

For the purposes of clause 81 of Schedule 2 to the Act, 30 June 2022 is prescribed as the date until which Part 29 of Schedule 2 to the Act operates.
