1. These regulations may be cited as theCriminal Injuries Compensation (Fund) Regulations
2. These regulations will come into operation on 1 September 1997.
3. TheCriminal Injuries Compensation Fund Regulations 1986 (seeGazette 4 September
1986 p. 712), as varied, are revoked.
4. In these regulations—"
Act " means theCriminal Injuries Compensation Act 1977 .
5. The prescribed percentage, for the purposes of section 12(2)(d) of the Act, is 20 per cent.
6. In accordance with section 13(2) of the Act, a levy will not be imposed under that section
where a person expiates an offence in pursuance of an expiation notice issued—
by a municipal or district council or other authority with powers and functions of local government; or | |
by a university or other tertiary educational institution established by Act of Parliament; or | |
by an incorporated hospital or incorporated health centre (within the meaning of the | |
by the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science; or | |
by the Board of the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium; or | |
