1Name

This instrument is the Criminal Code (Terrorist Organisation—Palestinian Islamic Jihad) Regulations 2021.

2Commencement

1. (1)

   Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

5Terrorist organisation – Palestinian Islamic Jihad

1. (1)

   For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of terrorist organisation in subsection 102.1(1) of the Criminal Code, the organisation known as Palestinian Islamic Jihad is specified.

2. (2)

   Palestinian Islamic Jihad is also known by the following names:

   1. (a)

      Al‑Quds Brigades;

   2. (b)

      Harakat al‑Jihad al‑Islami fi Filistin;

   3. (c)

      Islamic Jihad;

   4. (d)

      Islamic Jihad Palestine;

   5. (e)

      Islamic Jihad–Palestine Faction and Islamic Holy War;

   6. (f)

      PIJ;

   7. (g)

      Saraya al‑Quds;

   8. (h)

      The Jerusalem Brigades.
