1Name

This instrument is the Criminal Code (Terrorist Organisation—Islamic State Somalia) Regulations 2022.

2Commencement

1. (1)

   Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

5Terrorist organisation – Islamic State Somalia

1. (1)

   For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of terrorist organisation in subsection 102.1(1) of the Criminal Code, the organisation known as Islamic State Somalia is specified.

2. (2)

   Islamic State Somalia is also known by the following names:

   1. (a)

      Abnaa ul‑Calipha;

   2. (b)

      ISIL Somalia;

   3. (c)

      ISIS in East Africa;

   4. (d)

      Mahad Moalim;

   5. (e)

      Wilayat al Somal;

   6. (f)

      Wilayat Sumaal.
