1Name

This instrument is the Criminal Code (Terrorist Organisation—Boko Haram) Regulations 2020.

2Commencement
  1. (1)

    Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

5Terrorist organisation – Boko Haram
  1. (1)

    For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of terrorist organisation in subsection 102.1(1) of the Criminal Code, the organisation known as Boko Haram is specified.

  2. (2)

    Boko Haram is also known by the following names:

    1. (a)

      Group of the Followers of the Prophet for Propagation and Holy Struggle;

    2. (b)

      Jama’at Ahl al‑Sunnah lil‑Da’awa wal‑Jihad;

    3. (c)

      Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati Wal‑Jihad;

    4. (d)

      Nigerian Mujahideen;

    5. (e)

      Nigerian Taliban;

    6. (f)

      People Committed to the Propagation of the Prophet’s Teachings and Jihad;

    7. (g)

      Western Education is Forbidden;

    8. (h)

      Yusuffiya Movement;

    9. (i)

      Yusuffiya Sect.
