1Name of Regulations

These Regulations are the Criminal Code Amendment Regulations 2004 (No. 2).

2Commencement

These Regulations commence on the date of their notification in the Gazette.

3Amendment of Criminal Code Regulations 2002

Schedule 1 amends the Criminal Code Regulations 2002.

4ATerrorist organisations — Al Qa’ida

1. (1)

   For paragraph (b) of the definition of terrorist organisation in subsection 102.1 (1) of the Code, the organisation known as Al Qa’ida/Islamic Army is specified.

2. (2)

   For subregulation (1), Al Qa’ida/Islamic Army is also known by the following names:

   1. (a)

      ‘The Base’;

   2. (b)

      Al Qaida;

   3. (c)

      Al Qaeda;

   4. (d)

      International Front for Fighting Jews and Crusaders;

   5. (e)

      Islamic Army for the Liberation of Holy Sites;

   6. (f)

      Islamic Salvation Foundation;

   7. (g)

      The Group for the Preservation of the Holy Sites;

   8. (h)

      The Islamic Army for the Liberation of the Holy Places;

   9. (i)

      The World Islamic Front for Jihad Against Jews and Crusaders;

   10. (j)

       Usama Bin Laden Network;

   11. (k)

       Usama Bin Laden Organization;

   12. (l)

       International Islamic Front Against Jews and Christians;

   13. (m)

       Qa’idat Al-Jihad.
