s1 4 Criminal Code Amendment Act 2006 The Parliament of Queensland enacts— s5 No. 30, 2006 Part 1 Preliminary 1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Criminal Code Amendment Act 2006 . Part 2 Amendment of Criminal Code 2 Act amended in pt 2 This part amends the Criminal Code. 3 Omission of s 56 (Disturbing the Legislature) Section 56— omit. 4 Omission of ss 57–58 Sections 57 and 58— omit. 5 Insertion of new pt 9, ch 80 Part 9, after section 716— insert—
s6 5 s7 Criminal Code Amendment Act 2006 No. 30, 2006 ‘Chapter 80 Transitional provision for Criminal Code Amendment Act 2006 ‘717 Effect of repeal of ss 56, 57 and 58 ‘(1) After the commencement of the Criminal Code Amendment Act 2006 , a person can not be charged with, prosecuted for or further prosecuted for, or convicted of, an offence against section 56, 57 or 58 1 or punished for doing or omitting to do an act that constituted that offence. ‘(2) However, subsection (1) does not prevent a person being punished by the Legislative Assembly for contempt of the Legislative Assembly as defined under the ParliamentofQueensland Act 2001. ’.
