Crimes (Validation of Orders) Act 2001†
[Assented to 16 October 2001]
The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:
1. Purpose
The purpose of this Act is to amend the Crimes Act 1958 to validate certain orders purported to have been made for the taking of forensic samples from offenders.
2. Commencement
This Act comes into operation on the day after the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

(2) Sub-section (1) does not affect the rights of
the parties in the proceeding known as
Lednar, O'Brien and Hill v. The Magistrates'
Court and The Chief Commissioner of Police
(Victoria) (No. 6292 of 2000) in theSupreme Court of Victoria.".
