I, PHILIP MICHAEL JEFFERY, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and under items 3 and 8 of the table in subsection 2 (1) of the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Telecommunications Interception and Other Measures) Act 2005, fix 17 December 2005 as the day on which items 1, 2 and 9 of Schedule 2 to that Act commence.
