2000 No 588
| Crimes Legislation Amendment | New South Wales |
(Sentencing) Act 1999 No 94
—Proclamation
GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Sentencing) Act 1999, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 October 2000 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.
Signed and sealed at Sydney, this 20th day of September 2000.
By His Excellency’s Command,
BOB DEBUS, M.P.,
Attorney General
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!
Explanatory note
The object of this proclamation is to commence the uncommenced provisions of the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Sentencing) Act 1999. The uncommenced provisions comprise the long title of the Act and Schedule 1 to the Act (to the extent to which it repeals the Forfeited Recognizances and Bail Act 1954). The making of this proclamation is consequential on the commencement of the Criminal Procedure Legislation Amendment (Bail Agreements) Act 1998, which abolishes certain recognizances and establishes a new scheme for the enforcement of bail agreements.
