Regulations under the Crime (Victims Assistance) Act

1Citation

These Regulations may be cited as the Crimes Compensation Regulations.

2Application for compensation

For the purposes of section 5 of the Act:

  • (a)

    a victim may apply for a compensation certificate by lodging with the Clerk of the Local Court an application in accordance with Form 1 of the Schedule; and

  • (b)

    a person who represents the interests of the dependants of a deceased victim may apply for a compensation certificate by lodging with the Clerk of the Local Court an application in accordance with Form 2 of the Schedule.

3Compensation certificate

For the purposes of section 8(1) of the Act, a compensation certificate shall accord with Form 3 of the Schedule.
