Crimes at Sea Act 1999
An Act to give effect to a cooperative scheme for dealing with crimes at sea and for other purposes
[Royal Assent 30 April 1999]
The Commonwealth and the States have agreed to a cooperative scheme to apply the criminal law of the States extraterritorially in the areas adjacent to the coast of Australia.Under the scheme, the criminal law of each State is to apply in the area adjacent to the State –
Be it therefore enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:
