CRIMES AMENDMENT (DETENTION AFTER ARREST) ACT

1997 No 48-PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) GORDON SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (1) of the Crimes Amendment (Detention after Arrest) Act 1997, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 9 February 1998 as the day on which that Act (except Schedule 2) commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the Crimes Amendment (Detention after Arrest) Act 1997 (except Schedule 2). Schedule 2 is not commenced because it amends

an uncommenced provision of the Children (Criminal Proceedings) Act 1987.
