DETERMINATION OF AN INCIDENT UNDER DIVISION 11A

WHEREAS:

I am satisfied that:

(a)   on 7 March 2007 (local time) an incident, being an incident in which one or more Australian citizens or Australian residents have died, has occurred in a place wholly outside Australia, namely Yogjarkarta, Indonesia, and

(b)     it is appropriate in the circumstances for Division 11A to apply in relation to the incident.

NOW THEREFORE I, Philip Maxwell Ruddock, Attorney-General, pursuant to paragraph 23YUF(1)(b) of the Crimes Act 1914, hereby determine that the incident is one in relation to which Division 11A of the Crimes Act 1914 applies.
