Cremations Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2012 [s 1] 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Cremations Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2012 . 2 Regulation amended This regulation amends the Cremations Regulation 2003. 3 Insertion of new s 2A After section 2— insert — ‘2A Labelling ashes ‘(1) For the Act, section 11(1)(a), the following requirements are prescribed— (a) a label must be securely attached to the exterior of each container in which the ashes are stored; (b) the label must be legible; (c) the label must include the following information— (i) the deceased’s name; (ii) if the person in charge of the crematorium has been given the deceased’s date of death—the date of death; (iii) the cremation date; (iv) the name and address of the crematorium; (v) if the person in charge of the crematorium has allocated a number for the cremation for the purpose of identifying it—the number. ‘(2) Also, if the deceased’s ashes are stored in more than 1 container, each label must— (a) be consecutively numbered; and (b) state the total number of containers in which the deceased’s ashes are stored. The label for 1 container includes the words ‘No. 1 of 2’ and the label for the other container includes the words ‘No. 2 of 2’.’. 4 Amendment of s 3 (Record of particulars for cremation to be kept) Section 3(g)(i), ‘section 11(1)’— omit , insert — ‘section 11(1)(b)’.
