CREMATION AMENDMENT ACT
No. 103 of 1986
AN ACT to amend the Cremation Act 1929 in consequence of the
enactment of the Cemeteries Act 1986.
[Assented to 12 December 1986.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the
advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Cremation Amendment Act 1986.

| Principal Act |
2. In this Act the Cremation Act 1929* is referred to as the principal
Act.

Commencement
3. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which the
Cemeteries Act 1986 comes into operation.
Section 2 amended
4. Section 2 of the principal Act is amended
| (a) | by inserting after the definition of "administrator" the following definition |
CC "Board" has the meaning given to it in section 3 of the
Cemeteries Act 1986; ";
| (b) | by deleting the definition of "cemetery" and substituting the following definition |
CI "cemetery" means land declared by the Governor to be a
cemetery, under the Cemeteries Act 1986 and so far as the context allows, includes a disused burial ground and a closed cemetery; ".
References to trustees amended
5. The principal Act is amended by deleting "trustees" wherever it occurs in the provisions referred to in the Table to this section and substituting in each case the following-
" Board ".
