Credit Union Act 1969 Regulation relating to the advertisement of a change of name of a credit union (1991-76) [GG No 33 of 22.2.1991] (NSW)
1991—No. 76
CREDIT UNION ACT 1969—REGULATION
(Relating to the advertisement of a change of name of a credit union)
NEW SOUTH WALES
[Published in Gazette No. 33 of 22 February 1991]
HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Credit Union Act 1969, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.
G. B. PEACOCKE
Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs.
The Credit Union Regulations 1969 are amended by omitting
Regulation 23 and by inserting instead the following Regulation:
Advertisement of change of name
23. (1) Within 28 days after the registration of a change of name of a credit union or association, the registrar must cause the change of name to be advertised in the Government Gazette.
(2) Within the same period, the credit union or association must cause the change of name to be advertised in at least one newspaper circulating in the locality in which the registered office of the credit union or association is situated.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Credit Union Regulations 1969 so as to provide that, when a credit union or association changes its name, the responsibility for advertising that fact is the responsibility of the Registrar of Credit Unions in respect of advertising in the Government Gazette, and of the credit union or association itself in respect of advertising elsewhere in the press. (At present, the responsibility is totally that of the Registrar.)
