COVID-19 Omnibus (Emergency Measures) (Commercial Leases and Licences) Amendment Regulations 2020
The Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister for Small Business, makes the following Regulations:

1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to extend the operation of the COVID-19 Omnibus (Emergency Measures) (Commercial Leases and Licences) Regulations 2020, which would otherwise expire on 31 December 2020.
2Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 15 of the COVID-19 Omnibus (Emergency Measures) Act 2020.
3Principal Regulations
In these Regulations, the COVID-19 Omnibus (Emergency Measures) (Commercial Leases and Licences) Regulations 2020[1] are called the Principal Regulations.
4Definitions
In regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations—
(a)in the definition of relevant period, for "31 December 2020" substitute "28 March 2021";
(b)in the definition of the Act, for "2020." substitute "2020;";
(c)in the definition of turnover test period, for "rules;" substitute "rules.".
5Rent relief
(1)In regulation 10(4)(a) of the Principal Regulations, for "31 December 2020" substitute "28 March 2021".
(2)In regulation 10(4)(c) of the Principal Regulations, for "31 December 2020" substitute "28 March 2021".
(3)In regulation 10(5) of the Principal Regulations, for "31 December 2020" substitute "28 March 2021".
6Subsequent rent relief
In regulation 11(1)(c) of the Principal Regulations, for "31 December 2020" substitute "28 March 2021".
7Payment of deferred rent
In regulation 16(2)(a) of the Principal Regulations, for "31 December 2020" substitute "28 March 2021".
8What a binding order may require
(1)In regulation 21G(2)(a) of the Principal Regulations, for "31 December 2020" substitute "28 March 2021".
(2)In regulation 21G(2)(b) of the Principal Regulations, for "31 December 2020" substitute "28 March 2021".
9Expiry of these Regulations
In regulation 25 of the Principal Regulations, for "31 December 2020" substitute "28 March 2021".
