to amend the
This Act may be cited as the
COVID-19 Emergency Response (Bail) Amendment Act 2020 .
In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a specified Act amends the Act so specified.
Part 2 Amendment of COVID-19 Emergency Response Act 2020
Schedule 2—after the heading to Schedule 2 insert:
Part A1— Bail Act 1985
A1—Modification of Bail Act 1985 The
Bail Act 1985 applies with the following modifications:
(a) section 10A(2), definition of
prescribed applicant —after paragraph (ca) insert:
(cb) an applicant taken into custody on a charge of an aggravated offence against the person if the circumstances alleged to aggravate the offence are those set out in section 5AA(1)(ka) of the
Criminal Law Consolidation Act 1935 ; or(b) section 10A(2), definition of
prescribed applicant , (d)—before subparagraph (i) insert:
(ai) section 20AA;
(bi) section 20AB;
(c) section 10A(2), definition of
prescribed applicant , (d)—after subparagraph (ii) insert:
(iia) section 169;
(iib) section 170;
(iic) section 170A;
