No. 13 of 1966.

AN ACT to amend the Country High School Hostels

Authority Act, 1960-1961.

[Assented to 5th October, 1966.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Country High naliagn.

School Hostels Authority Act Amendment Act, 1966.

(2) In this Act the Country High School Hostels

Authority Act, 1960-1961, is referred to as the

principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Country High School Hostels Authority Act, 1960-1966.

2. Section seven of the principal Act is amended by adding after paragraph (b), the following paragraph-

(ba) to undertake and carry out or cause to be carried out the general management of hostels, and in relation thereto but without limiting the generality thereof

(i)    to regulate and control the admission of students to hostels, the conduct to be observed by them. while accommodated therein, a n d the suspension or expulsion of students therefrom;

(ii)    to provide for the maintenance and enforcement of discipline in hostels;

(iii)    to engage and dismiss members of the staff of hostels and to determine their powers and duties;

(iv)    to appoint committees in respect of hostels and to delegate to any such committee all or any of the powers of the Authority under this paragraph, in which case the provisions of section nine of this Act shall apply in relation to that delegation as though the committee were a committee appointed pursuant to that section; .
