Country Areas Water Supply Amendment

By-laws 2001

Made by the Minister under section 105 of the Country Areas Water Supply Act 1947 and section 34(1) of the Water Agencies Powers Act 1984.

1.             Citation

These by-laws may be cited as the Country Areas Water Supply
Amendment By-laws 2001.

2.             The by-laws amended

The amendments in these by-laws are to the Country Areas
Water Supply By-laws 1957*.

3.             By-law 1A amended

(1) By-law 1A(1) is amended by deleting “In these by-laws, unless
the context otherwise requires —

(a) the expressions

“cesspool,” “drain,” “house,” “land,” “owner,”

“piggery” and “public house”
have the meanings respectively assigned to them in section 3 of the Health Act, 1911-1956;
(b)	the expression”

and inserting instead —
“

In these by-laws, unless the context otherwise requires —

”.

(2) After by-law 1A(1) the following sub-bylaws are inserted —

“

(2)	In these by-laws, unless the context otherwise requires, words and expressions have the same meanings as in the principal Act.
(3)	In these by-laws, unless the context otherwise requires, “cesspool”, “drain”, “house”, “land”, “owner”,
“piggery” and “public house” have the same
meanings as they have in section 3 of the Health Act 1911.

”.

4.             Minor textual amendments

(1)	By-law 9(3) is amended by deleting “thorough” and inserting instead —
“ thoroughly ”.
(2)	By-law 11(1)(c) is amended by deleting “opposums” and inserting instead —
“ possums ”.
(3)	By-law 67(1)(b) is amended by inserting after “prevents or in” —
“ any ”.
(4)	By law 105(2) is amended by inserting before “Act” — “ principal ”.

5.             Various by-laws amended

The by-laws listed in column 1 of the Table to this by-law are amended by deleting the figures, words and symbols set out in column 2 of that Table and inserting instead the figures and symbols set out in column 3.

(4) The heading to Division IV is repealed and the following
heading is inserted instead —

”.

(5) The heading to Division V and the heading “Water Supply
Plumbing” immediately after it are repealed and the following
heading is inserted instead —

”.

(6) The heading to Division VI and the heading “By-laws for
General Purposes” immediately after it are repealed and the
following heading is inserted instead —

(7) The heading to Division VII and the heading “Miscellaneous” immediately after it are repealed and the following heading is inserted instead —

“

”.

(8) The heading to Division VIII is repealed.

7.             Various by-law headings deleted

(1) The headings immediately before each of the by-laws set out in
the Table to this sub-bylaw are deleted.

8.             Schedules amended

(1) The heading to Schedule 1 and “Form of notification of building
construction or alteration” immediately after it are deleted and
the following heading is inserted instead —

”.

(2)	Schedule 1 is amended by deleting “AUTHORITY” and inserting instead —
“ GOVERNMENT ”.
(3)	The heading to Schedule 3 is deleted and the following heading is inserted instead —

“

Schedule 3 — Materials, fittings and fixtures

”.
