AN ACT to amend the Country Areas Water Supply

Act, 1947-1978.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Section 63

3.    Section 63 of the principal Act is amended

(a)	by inserting after the section designation "63." the subsection designation "(1)"; and
(b)	by adding a new subsection, as follows

(2) The water rate payable in respect of rateable land in any financial year shall be assessed on the basis of

(a)	the basic water rate applicable to that land prescribed pursuant to section sixty-five of this Act; and
(b)	where the land is actually supplied with water by the Minister, a charge calculated by reference to the quantity, other than the prescribed quantity which the owner or occupier is entitled to receive by way of allowance (if any) in respect of the basic water rate, of water supplied or agreed to be supplied by measure during the consump- tion year. .

(3) Section 65 of the principal Act is amended by inserting, after the word "minimum" where that word appears

(a)	in subsection (1), in each case; and
(b)	in subsection (2), in paragraph (a),

the words "basic water".

Section 72

5. Section 72 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words "in respect of the rate", in line five, and substituting the words "by way of allowance in respect of the basic water rate". amended.
