AN ACT to amend section sixty-five and section seventy of the Country Areas Water Supply Act, 1947-1976.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Country and citation.

Areas Water Supply Act Amendment Act, 1977.

The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Country Areas Water Supply Act,

Section 65

amended. 2. Section 65 of the principal Act is amended

(a)	by deleting the passage "two dollars, the Minister may fix the water rate to be charged at the amount of two dollars", in lines seventeen and eighteen of subsection (1), and substituting the passage "such amount as is prescribed the Minister may make and levy a minimum rate of the prescribed amount notwithstanding that if imposed under other provisions of this Act the rate payable in respect thereof would be less and, subject to subsection (la) of this section, the restrictions imposed by this subsection do not apply to any such minimum rate";
(b)	by deleting the passage "four dollars, the Minister may fix the sum of four dollars as the amount of water rate to be charged against and be paid in respect of the holding", in lines thirteen to sixteen of subsection (2), and substituting the passage "such amount as is prescribed the Minister may make and levy a minimum rate of the prescribed amount notwith- standing that if imposed under other provisions of this Act the rate to be charged against and be paid in respect of the holding would be less"; and
(c)	by deleting the words "sum of four dollars", in line thirty-five of subsection (2), and substituting the words "prescribed amount".

Section 70

amended. 3. Section 70 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words "within one month after notice of assessment in the prescribed form has been issued to the ratepayer", in lines one to three, and sub- stituting the words "in accordance with the by-laws for the time being".
