AN ACT to amend the Country Areas Water Supply

Act, 1947-1954.

[Assented to 30th September, 1957.]

BE it enacted, by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Country Areas iTggigiVi?,,

Water Supply Act Amendment Act, 1957.

(2) In this Act, the Country Areas Water Supply

Act, 1947-1954,

Act No. 62 of 1947 as affected by Act No. 63 of 1947 and as amended by Acts Nos. 22 of 1950, 41 of 1951 and 73 of 1954,

is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Country Areas Water Supply Act, 1947-1957.

2. Section five of the principal Act is amended by substituting for the interpretation, "holding" the following interpretation

1911, a. 2.

"holding" means, and shall be deemed to have meant on and after the day of the passing of this Act, namely, the tenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, any piece or parcel of land which is held

(a)

in fee simple; or

(b)

on conditional purchase lease, pas- toral lease, or otherwise under the Land Act, 1933 or any prior Act repealed by that Act or under any regulation made, under, or repealed by, any prior Act, or by the Land Act, 1933;

and which is constituted, owned, or occupied

as one property; .

3. Section twenty-four of the principal Act is amended by adding after the word, "may" in line one of subsection (3), the words, "raise or".
