An Act to declare the powers of

the Governor with reference to con-

stituting Counties and Hundreds.

W HEREAS, at divers times heretofore, Counties and Hundreds Preamble.

have been constituted within the Province of South Australia, by the Governor for the time being, by Proclamation in the South

Australian Goue~nment Gazette : And whereas questions have beeii

raised as to the validity of such Proclamations, and it is desirable that such questions should be set at rest-Be it therefore enacted by the Governor-in-Chief of the Province of South Australia, with the advice

and consent of the Legislative Council and I-iouse of Asselubly of the

said Province, in this present Parliament assembled, as follows:

lands in such Proclamation mentioned shall constitute a County or Hundred, as in such Proclamation shall be declared, and in any such Proclamations to define the boundaries of any such County or Hun- dred, and such boundaries from time to time to alter and vary, and in such Proclamation shall be mentioned the day from which such

3. This Act shall take effect from the first day of July, 1861.
