AN ORDINANCE
To amend the Cotter River Ordinance 1914-1919.
pursuance of the powers conferred by the Seat of Government Acceptance BE it ordained by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, in
Act 1909 and the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910, as
follows :—
1.—(1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Cotter River Ordinance short title
1 q n n and citation. (2.) The Cotter River Ordinance 1914-1919 is in this Ordinance
referred to as the Principal Ordinance.
(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may
be cited as the Cotter River Ordinance 1914-1928.
2. Section two of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting Fishing in

section is inserted :—
" 3B.—(1.) No person shall, in the area described in the Second Probiiution
Schedule to this Ordinance, without the consent in writing of the
| • | Federal Capital Commission, or an officer of the Federal Capital Commission thereto authorized in writing by the Federal Capital Commission (proof of which consent shall lie upon the person accused)— |
(a) sell or offer for sale victuals or liquid refreshments of any
kind; or
(b) in pursuance of any sale made outside the area supply victuals
| • | or liquid refreshments of any kind, |
to any person who is not bona fide resident or camping in the area.
Penalty : Twenty pounds.
" (2.) In any prosecution under the last preceding sub-section the
onus of proof that the victuals or liquid refreshments were sold, ^ ^
offered for sale, or supplied to a person bona fide, resident or camping
in the area described in the Second Schedule to this Ordinance shall
be upon the person accused."I
Tint Schedule.
6. The Schedule to the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting ^_ the heading " Schedule " and inserting in its stead the heading " The ^ B First Schedule."
Second Schedule.
7. The Principal Ordinance is amended by adding at the end there- of the following Schedule :—
" THE SECOND SCHEDULE
All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Territory for the Seat of Government commencing at the intersection of the left bank of the Cotter Eiver with the left bank of the Murrumbidgee River and bounded thence on the south by the left bank of the Cotter River aforesaid upstream about 64 chains to a peg marked * ; thence on the east-southerly by a line bearing 163 degrees 13 minutes for 5 chains 33.2 links ; thence on the south by a line crossing Paddy's River bearing 272 degrees 46 minutes for 5 chains ; thence on the west by a line bearing 2 degrees 46 minutes for 3 chains ; thence on the south- west by a line bearmg 315 degrees for about 34 chains to a ridge thence on the north-west by that ridge and the Cotter River Dam generally north-easterly to the left bank of the Cotter River ; thence on the north by a line bearing 98 degrees to the left bank of the Murrumbidgee River; thence on the east by that bank of the river aforesaid upstream southerly to point of commencement.".
