Corrections Amendment Regulations 1999

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Corrections Act 1997 .19 April 1999

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Corrections Amendment Regulations 1999 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Corrections Regulations 1998 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 21 amended (Release of prisoners) Regulation 21 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by omitting paragraph (b) and substituting the following paragraph: (b) in the case of a sentence of more than 14 days, if the day of release falls on a Saturday or other public holiday or a Sunday, a prisoner is to be released on a preceding weekday, not being a Saturday or other public holiday or a Sunday; (b) by inserting in paragraph (c) "Saturday or other public holiday or a" after "is a"; (c) by omitting from paragraph (c) "or public holiday".
