Corrections Amendment (Firearms) Regulations 2015
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Corrections Regulations 2009 to further prescribe types of non-lethal firearms able to be used by escort officers in prisons.
2Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 112 of the Corrections Act 1986.
3Regulation 8 substituted
For regulation 8 of the Corrections Regulations 2009[1] substitute—
8Non-lethal firearms"
For the purpose of section 55EC of the Act, a prescribed non-lethal firearm is—
(a)a tear gas gun or projector; or
(b)a shotgun which fires rounds commonly known as 'bean bag' rounds.".
