The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Corporations (Fees) Amendment Act 2003.

2Commencement

This Act commences on 1 July 2003.

3Schedule(s)

Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1Amendments

Corporations (Fees) Act 2001

After section 5

Insert:

5ADifferential fees for electronic compliance in relation to a chargeable matter

The regulations may prescribe, in relation to a chargeable matter, different fees having regard to whether the matter is complied with by electronic means.

Paragraph 6(1)(a)

Omit “$5,000”, substitute “$10,000”.

Subsection 6(3)

Omit “$25,000”, substitute “$50,000”.

Section 8

Omit “sections 5 and 6”, substitute “sections 5, 5A and 6”.
