Coroners (Section 11 Fees) Regulations 1998

under the Coroners Act 1975

1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Coroners (Section 11 Fees) Regulations 1998.

2—Commencement

These regulations will come into operation on the day on which they are made.

3—Fees payable to certain coroners

A legal practitioner who is appointed a coroner under section 11 of the Coroners Act 1975 is to be paid a fee in respect of each day on which he or she undertakes coronial duties at the direction of the State Coroner equivalent to 120 per cent of the daily rate payable to a stipendiary magistrate.

Revocation of regulations

The Coroners (Section 11 Fees) Regulations 1998 were revoked by Sch 2 of the Coroners Regulations 2005 on 1.7.2005.
