    Editorial changes

    The Legislation Act 2001, part 11.3 authorises the Parliamentary Counsel to make editorial amendments and other changes of a formal nature when preparing a law for republication. Editorial changes do not change the effect of the law, but have effect as if they had been made by an Act commencing on the republication date (see Legislation Act 2001, s 115 and s 117). The changes are made if the Parliamentary Counsel considers they are desirable to bring the law into line, or more closely into line, with current legislative drafting practice.

    This republication does not include amendments made under part 11.3 (see endnote 1).

    Uncommenced provisions and amendments

    Penalties

    1. Name of regulation

      This regulation is the Coroners Regulation 1994.

    2. Application of regulation

      This regulation applies in relation to a death that happens on or after 1 August 1994.

    3. Specified operations and procedures

      (1)An operation or procedure specified for this section is not an operation or procedure for the Act, section 13 (1) (e) if the doctor responsible for carrying it out gives a certificate stating that the death has not happened as a result of that operation or procedure.

      (2)The following operations or procedures are specified for this section:

      (a)the giving of an intravenous injection;

      (b)the giving of an intramuscular injection;

      (c)intravenous therapy;

      (d)the insertion of a line or cannula;

      (e)artificial ventilation;

      (f)cardiac resuscitation;

      (g)urethral catheterisation.

    1. Legislation history

      This regulation was originally made as the Coroners Regulations under the Coroners Ordinance 1956.  That ordinance was repealed by the Coroners (Consequential Provisions) A1997‑58 s 3.  The regulation was continued in force under the Coroners Act 1997 (see A1997‑58 s 5).  The regulation was renamed under the Legislation Act 2001.
